We All Got it Coming. - Joey Comeau
Dec. 2nd, 2011 11:19 pmThe "sequel" to Lockpick Pornography. It made me cry. The characters are very believable and the fall... not pretty. I hope Comeau could write a book where the homosexuals can live a better life, a book that isn't a political weapon that cries sex and violence to get our attention, but one where the characters can emerge victorious and be good persons. Surely not all homosexuals lose in life?
Oh, and read this excerpt:
"You two work really well together. He makes you happy, Clay. Why not put a ring on his finger? You'd look so handsome in your tuxedos." I picture sliding a ring onto Clay's finger, and his smile, and I hate to admit that I get a bit goofy in the heart. This is why people get married, I think. They don't think about these things practically, they just imagine the wedding cake. The way their boyfriend would look in a tuxedo. The imagine sitting old and crotchety together on the front step, canes leaning against the wall, a chessboard between you. Two men growing old together. And their heart feels like this, and of course it seems like a good idea.
Am I the only person thinking of Magneto and Professor X?
