This a massive crossover fic written to clean up my creative RAM, as it's getting a bit too random lately and swarms of... things are brewing there. [Started some weeks before POkemon B&W came out]
Untitled
Rating: PG-13
Worlds: Pokemon, Scott Pilgrim, Canada, Good Omens, Discworld, The Lost Room, Durarara, AU!Suzumiya Haruhi, etc.
Disclaimer: This is a pure fan work, meaning all worlds and characters are not mine.
Warning: Suzumiya Haruhi is set in an AU where the SOS members are genderbent and Haruhiko is aware that espers, aliens, monsters, time travelers, sliders and etc. exist (since it's the norm in this universe).
The only season more detestable than Canadian winter is Canadian spring. Winter is at least fun when you are dressed right, but spring is a season of mud, puddles of muddy water that completely submerges sidewalks and half of crossroads, hidden road apples that unveil themselves from under the snow and rusty one cents that nobody dare to pick up. And no matter how high one's waterproof boots are, there's just no way that one can return home without getting wet somewhere, with all the splashing from passing cars and kicking legs.
That's why Touya is curled up in his bed right now, trying to ignore the loud banging on his apartment door.
"Touya! Wake up already! The bus is not going to wait for us and if we miss the next bus we're going to be late!"
Touko, despite not related to Touya, is practically Touya's sister. Or brother. She can be quite manly at times. But right now, she's his mother.
"Touya! You know that we volunteers shouldn't be late despite not being paid!"
Touya buries his head further into the pillow. The temperature outside is just cold enough to still have snow and just warm enough to be wet and muddy. There will probably be a huge puddle at the bus stop.
"Cheren and Bel are waiting for us!"
Touya hugs his munna plush harder. Cheren and Bel won't mind his absence, he thinks.
"Touya! If you're still searching for N, he might show up at today's convention!"
At the mention of N's name, Touya jumped out of the bed and opened the door fully dressed.
"Are you sure? N will be there?"
"Not sure, but according to Celty a man with a void cube on his belt purchased a ticket yesterday night, just before the booth closed."
"Which day's?"
"He bought a weekend pass, so you might want to be there all three days to be sure."
All three days... There's no way to know which panel he'll visit, so he better ask all staff to keep an eye.
Little did he know that void cube is no longer a clue to N, as it was given to the impressed Celty, who hasn't stopped playing it all night.
The bus arrives right on the schedule. It's a rather crowded bus. Finding no seats, they stand near a man in camel coat and a man in black suit and sunglasses. The man in camel coat tries to give them their seats, but the man in sunglasses refused to stand up, stating that healthy young adults can survive standing for some minutes. Their arguments soon become increasingly cryptic with rich references to the Bible.
Suddenly, the man in black stands up and shoves Touya and Touko away. The other man jumped aside while yelling some British obscenities. A metallic gleam flashes by their eyes. A breeze of cold air filled the bus. The scenery above their eyes changed from a creamy grey to the cold, steel-like seamless grey of cloudy sky.
The bus was cut in two.
When Touya comes to his senses again, he can hear the bus driver complain about overprotective Chinese dads and Touko muttering "and I thought only New Yorks dads do that..." He can also vaguely remember a young woman with a handbag and a teenager boy with dark red hair rollerskate past his mind.
The two men were slowly walking away from them. A cut was on the glasses guy's black coat. The camel coat guy was beaming.
"Really, Crowley, I knew you had the goodness in you. A selfless act... I'm so proud of you. Looks like I did have a positive influence on you after all these years."
"Ngh."
"In celebration, how about we get some tea and cupcakes? Then a dinner at..."
"How about I tempt you to David's Tea?"
"You'll pay for it."
"Deal."
And Crowley did something weird with his tongue. His friend didn't see that, as he's too busy buying two dollars used books from a streetside stand.
"Ah, Mr.Fell, back again?" The seller says, getting used to the British man in camel coat visiting his business everyday since last month. "Are you going to open a bookshop with all those books?"
Mr. Fell grinned like an overweight monkey. Yes, he does have a bookshop, but his bookshop is more like a pirate's treasure box: old, dusty, humid, not-mouldy-only-thanks-to-miracles, piled with as much chaos allowed and while new items can be added, the owner refuses anything to go into anyone else's hands. Greed, unbeknownst to the himself, is the angel's capital sin after sloth.
A teenager boy in black and yellow skateboards over their head with the agility of bees. A pink heart-shaped floating fish is following the boy like a fairy companion. It does a spin over Crowley and Mr. Fell's head before resuming its way.
"Silver! There you are!"
The speaker is an energetic girl with light brown hair tied in two ponytails named Lyra. She happily glomps Silver, who just came out of subspace. Almost immediately, the boy in black and yellow glomps Silver from behind, both to prevent the redhead from falling and to indicate possession. In case Lyra forgets, Silver is also Etan's childhood friend and rival (and potential love interest).
"Hey, hey, Lyra, don't you have Morty already?"
"Well Ethan, don't you have Lance already?"
"Are you sure that Cynthia is not missing you right now? You should give her a call."
"And you should go talk to your Red. Green is too busy with Blue, Red might get lonely."
"I can't breath! Let go of me already!" The sandwiched Silver protests. Archrivals, he thinks regretfully, is something one should not get more than one.
Five steps away, Red is bored. A pikachu balances on his shoulders, invisible to normal, which is a minority in this room.
"The younger ones sure are lively, aren't they?"
"Pika!"
"As for us... we are close to fading away..."
Green turned to look at them, unaware of what Red just said. Aoi clings at his arm like a cute kitty. A perfect couple.
"Come on, Red, don't drop behind."
Green's fingers closed around Red's. Blue, Green, Red...
"We should always be together, don't we?"
"Ethan, Lyra, Silver! The Pokemon mini-tournament is starting in an hour!"
"Coming!" The three said in unison.
The three older young adults and Silver prepare the tables. Ethan and Lyra prepare their deck, ready to beat their rival and lose to Red.
Red always win, when it comes to Pokemon battles.
In the next room, Digimon mini-tournament is being prepared. For unknown reason, the Digimon Queen and her Renamon is here, albeit not to fight. There are considerably less fighters subscribed in the tournament this year, especially compared to Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Ho, Starcraft and Dead or Alive. The only tournament it beats in tern of subscribed players is Dance Dance Revolution.
There's no Defense of the Ancients tournament this time, only a promotion table.
A tall boy with green hair and a white dragon is staring at the toys panels. Someone is asking him about his void cube. He looks at the person. A stranger. He turns away. His dragon, more polite than his human, answered the stranger's questions. They want to play void cubes together, but the dragon's human is already walking away, so they part ways, but not before the dragon leaves its phone number.
The stranger, holding her cellphone, seems happy.
Then a boy with overwhelming energy groped the girl's breasts from behind. The girl understandably screams in shock.
"Ne, ne, Itsuki," the boy says to the girl, "what's that you got there? Is it fun? Is it the boy's phone number?"
"No," the girl says, having calmed down once she realised that the boy is just Haruhiko, "it's the dragon's number. We are going to play together when we have the chance."
"Reshiram? As in RAM, the top player in the drum game?"
"Drum game?"
"The arcade machine over there. I heard that RAM was a dragon from some girls. The only other dragon who plays that game signs his name as ROM, and it said that RAM should be his twin's handle. ROM also said that RAM and ROM are part of their real name, so that must be it. What's wrong? You look like if you've been betrayed."
"I prefer non-electronic games..."
Hearing this, Haruhiko gives out a heartful laugh.
"Come on, don't be so picky! Here, have this," he says as his removes the yellow headphones from around his neck and put them over Itsuki's head, "get used to electric waves from this first!" Haruhiko emits two cheerful hums from his throat, then continues: "if all espers are like you, places like Future Shop or computer labs would be completely esper-free!" And, with firm hands on Itsuki's shoulders, "As my subordinate, you must be the best esper in the world, understand? Now report to your chief!"
"Esper Koizumi 'Hime' Itsuki, ready for service. I am vice-president of SOS Dan and Haruhiko's esper, the best esper in the world."
The pink floating fish who was following Ethan is now spinning over Itsuki and Haruhiko's head.
"Hey! Luvdisc! Come back! If you stay out something might eat you!"
Before Luvdisc goes back to its human, a cute petite girl with high ponytail joins Itsuki and Haruhiko. Luvdisc feels compelled to circle above her head as well. So it circles. Over all three SOS Dan members' head.
"What's that pink thing?" asks Kyonko.
"...Nice ménage à trois, yo." mumbles Lyra before kissing Silver on the cheek. Luvdisc, feeling love nearby, leaves the SOS Dan to circle over Lyra, Silver and Ethan instead.
"No fair," Ethan says, then kisses Silver on the other cheek.
Silver realises that his problem isn't that he has two archrivals who want monopoly over him, but that his archrivals are each other's rival as well.
[Unfinished]
Just to see what happens if I jam all the source statics together in a more or less orderly way.
