Title: Dream of plains and scent of home
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7
Characters/Pairing: Lyn&Florina
Rating: G
In the castle, Lyn dreamed of the plains.
She was a bird. She soared above the sea of green, the cold air making her feathers rustle. She watched the daughters and sons of Father Sky and Mother Earth moving between their parents, clumsily like infants, yet graceful in their own way.
She saw nomads, countless of them, bearing the colours and the patterns of her tribe, riding East. They wore armours and carried weapons as if going to war.
An arrow hit her. She did not fall. Instead, she felt her body grow.
She was a Pegasus then. Part bird, part horse. An amulet had stopped the arrow. Her body was heavy, like carrying a weight invisible.
She let herself glide down, and walked. She tried to graze, but cannot swallow. She was hungry.
Footsteps like boots on marble floor resonated in the plains. Strange.
Lyn woke up with Florina by her side, carefully yet clumsily brushing the nomad girl's hair. The Pegasus rider was still wearing her light armour, stained with green from repeatedly falling off her mount. She must had been practising.
It smelled good, the scent of grass on her. Almost like home.
The nomad girl pulled her friend closer and inhaled.
(No, not like the plains, but definitely home.)
