Fried seitan

...I wonder if there is a way to eat them. Maybe I'll just panini them and eat them like that.

UPDATE: Do not panini fried seitan. It is awful. The oil comes out and gets a hint of unpleasant bitterness to it. It's better to eat them just like that cold than to panini them.

If I want to fry seitan, I pan-fry it with a bit of olive oil and spices --- one blend I've been using lately is salt, sugar, black pepper, lemon zest, and smoke flavor. Smoked paprika would be great if I weren't allergic.

What kind of seitan are you using? Did you make it yourself, or is it the plain stuff in water from the store, or?

Boiling might help? That's probably the thing I'd try, unless it was just heating them in an oven and trying to blot off more of the oil. Usually I have really not-oily seitan that I am trying to put more oil in, not the reverse. :)

My recipe is here although if you can eat tomatoes a little bit of tomato paste goes a long way.
