Faustus - Mephistopheles

In the English version Mephistopheles first say that he's part of pwoer that will always do good, but always scheming for evil. In the quote in the French edition of Master and Marguerita it gives the scence as part of power that always wants to do evil but end up doing good.

That's... not quite the same. What does the original say?
